Why we built an AI COO, not another chatbot

Most AI tools answer questions. Companies run on handoffs. Omnidiv is built around the handoff — and it's now in private beta.

product beta

Every company runs on handoffs. Sales promises something, marketing writes it up, engineering builds it, finance invoices it, support explains it. The friction — the delays, the dropped context, the "who owns this?" — lives in the gaps between departments, not inside them.

A chatbot doesn't help with that. It sits inside one person's tab and answers one question at a time. Nobody else sees it, nothing carries over, and the handoff still happens by email.

What Omnidiv does instead

You brief a COO agent the way you'd brief a chief of staff: "We're launching the new pricing on the 1st — get marketing a draft announcement, have finance check the proration rules, and give me a risk list."

The COO clarifies what it needs, then proposes handoffs to department agents — marketing, finance, legal, engineering, sales, support and more. Every handoff waits for your approval before it runs. The departments work in their own threads, with their own knowledge base, and report back. You see the whole thing in one place: what was asked, what was decided, what was delivered, and what it cost.

Three things we insisted on:

  1. Approval is a first-class object. Nothing leaves the building without a human saying yes. Every approval is on the record.
  2. Departments, not prompts. Each department has a role, a memory, and access rules — the same way real teams do.
  3. Client-scoped workspaces. Agencies and studios keep every client's knowledge, threads and costs apart.

Where we are

Omnidiv is live at omnidiv.com in private beta. A handful of companies are running real work through it — briefs from the web app and from a Telegram bot on their phones — and telling us what breaks.

If you run a small company and you're tired of being the glue between departments, create an account and write to us at contacts@omnidiv.com — we'll switch on the full set of departments for your workspace while we're in beta.

What's next

We'll write here about what we learn: which handoffs agents get right, which ones still need a person, and what "running a company with agents" looks like in practice. Subscribe with RSS if that's your thing.
